This bird, an immature or juvenile
bald eagle, was brought to WARM on New
Years day. A duck hunter found him struggling to survive in a marsh.
The eagle had been injured for
some time and was starving, suffering from hypothermia, shock, and exposure.
He was treated with an antibiotic
and intravenous fluids to start him on his long recovery. Because he
was so weak, he was hand fed for 15 days before he would eat on his
own.
Randy named
the eagle "McGavick" after a dedicated supporter of WARM.
