The bears are fed only what would
be found in their natural habitat because if they were raised on human
food, the likelihood that they'd migrate to a campground or picnic area
and become a nuisance increases.

The cubs are typically
in captivity for 6 to 9 months and are released at about 1 year old
during the winter when they are ready to hibernate.
